Neuropsychological
Evaluations for Children & Adults

Neuropsychological testing is a comprehensive evaluation of cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning, designed to provide a deeper understanding of how the brain works and how it impacts everyday life.

This type of assessment is often used to identify strengths and challenges in areas such as memory, attention, problem-solving, language, and emotional regulation.

The results offer valuable insights to guide treatment, accommodations, and strategies for personal, academic, or professional success.

At our practice, we offer neuropsychological testing for a range of needs, including health and medical follow-up, school neuropsychology referrals, follow-up for traumatic brain injury (TBI), seizure disorders, and neurodevelopmental conditions.

Dr. Harry Voulgarakis, a licensed psychologist and neuropsychologist, brings extensive experience in crafting detailed and specialized reports for agencies such as the New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD). Dr. Voulgarakis is also an approved independent evaluations for the New York City Department of Education (NYC DOE).

Initial Consultation

We start with a collaborative consultation to understand your unique concerns and goals. This initial conversation helps us gather important background information and outline the focus of the assessment. It’s your opportunity to ask questions, share concerns, and feel confident about the process ahead.

2

Intake, Interviews, and Data Gathering

This phase includes a detailed intake process where we gather relevant history through interviews with you, caregivers, teachers, or other key individuals. We may also review prior records, school reports, or medical history. By combining multiple perspectives, we ensure a thorough understanding of the challenges and strengths that guide the testing process.

3

Testing

Our testing phase is designed to evaluate key areas such as cognitive functioning, memory, attention, language skills, academic performance, and emotional regulation. Using evidence-based tools, we tailor the evaluation to address your specific needs. This process is structured to be comprehensive yet comfortable for individuals of all ages.

4

Feedback and Recommendations

The final step includes a detailed feedback session where we explain the results in clear, understandable terms. You’ll receive a comprehensive written report with actionable recommendations. These might include strategies for home, school, or work, therapeutic approaches, or accommodations to help you or your loved one thrive. Our team is here to support you in implementing these recommendations effectively.
